Welcome

The Capital Area Primary Care Research
Network (CAPRICORN) is a practice-based research network in the District of Columbia/Baltimore metropolitan area. The mission of CAPRICORN is to engage in practice-based primary care research that will lead to improved understanding and delivery of primary care. CAPRICORN focuses on effectiveness research – what is effective in real life situations. Recently, some of the CAPRICORN researchers have been very interested in complementary and alternative medicines, particularly in the pediatric population.

News and Updates

ResearchIn September 2006, CAPRICORN announced the launch of a new research study to evaluate the effect of a high dose probiotic yogurt rate in Decreasing Rates of Illnesses in Kids – The DRINK Study. Because of the extensive CAPRICORN network of patients and practitioners, participant recruitment for this study has been wildly successful. For more information, please see http://www.thedrinkstudy.com/. In the summer of 2007, CAPRICORN expects to conclude this study and publish the findings.

If you would like more information about this study, please contact the Project Coordinator, Megan Murphy, by sending an email to mm235@georgetown.edu.
